There’s recently been 3 cancelled events on the world tour and we thought it’d be important to give you more details about where we’re at with the title race this year. As we just read on the IBA site here is a little sum up:
After the cancellation of Men’s events in Bahia (Brazil) Tenerife (Canary Islands) and Isle De Margarite (Venezuela) the IBA WMT ratings will now be taken from the best 5 results and not the best 6. It is simply following the rule of 50% + 1 so with only 9 events in 2008 the best 5 will now count towards the championship.
This will now see the lead past to Guilherme Tamega (Brazil) with Uri Valadao (Brazil) and Ben Player (Australia) all within 400 points of each other.
Pierre Luis Costes (France) and Mark McCarthy (South Africa) round out the top 5 and are also outside chances to win the IBA World Tour.
One thing is for sure….the event at Confital will once again determine the World Title race and will ensure an exciting finish to another great year for the IBA.
Stay tuned for more info as it comes to hand…
