Riptide issue 160 is out. It says “Biggest issue ever” on the cover and jeez, yes, it’s sick and nice! Check it out.
We just got the brand new HELLO (luck squirrel club) teaser which is awesome. We’ll add it on the Podcast ASAP. While waiting for it, you can already watch it here. “This is a film that’s fun, colourful and if anything has too much personality. We want the viewer to be involved, we want them to walk away better for the experience. We didn’t sit on a beach shooting riders we had no relationship with, or paddled out and shot the same footage as 3 other film crews. We wanted to personalise this film so it had to be about the people, not purely about what happened in the water.”
Their DVD will be out in 1 or 2. Stay tuned, more news coming soon.
Last but not least, in the same vein as THE INSIDE but 13 years later, Scotty Carter’s new project with Mike Stewart called FIRE, which we talked about a while back, eventually has a teaser to watch. It’s here and it looks different and pretty interesting.

So for those who asked us, yep go to the Media page and control-click / right-click on any video link you want to get the teaser – save target as…

If you’re in Europe you can now watch some of your favorite bodyboard DVDs (or any other sports by the way) for less than 3 euros on X-tremevideo.com. There’s only a few titles available at the moment because it just started but heaps of DVDs should be available with this VOD thing. We think that you can only pay in Euro currency but other than that the VOD system works anywhere in the world and on any computer & browser. Choose “bodyboard” on the VOD channel page and enjoy. ABC by Mickey Smith is available for 3 euros.

Last minute update: RIPTIDE issue 159 is available, check it out here and also peep the cover here. On the Riptide site is says:
Here’s to new beginnings and fresh content. Of course, there’s all the usual departments you’ve come to expect from RT plus plenty, plenty more.
Oh, just one more thing while we’re on the topic of new beginnings and fresh content how insane is Max Arent’s first cover!
Fed up with Gold Coast crowds and the hustle and bustle of Surfers Paradise, Ryan Hardy, Liam O’Toole and young-gun Tommy Smith cleared the ditch between Oz and NZ earlier this year. They returned with tales of isolated kegs, brain-freezing temperatures and scenery straight out of ‘The Lord of the Rings’.
John Showell is arguably the best 21-year-old in the country right now; so why don’t we hear more of the young chap? Nick Lawrence (Riptide’s Ed) ventured to John’s hometown of Cronulla or ‘The Shire’ to find out more.
Although it almost seems like a lifetime since the 2007 Human Shark Island Challenge, RT takes you behind the scenes and profiles the experiences of the tight-knit crew (riders, judges and organisers) who are the lifeblood of the coveted Island event.
Want to win all of Benny Player’s gear? Then here’s your chance! Head to Riptide’s Forum for all the details on how win yourself his swanky set-up.

After the release of the films “Denis” and “Leroy” the Waldron Bros were continually asked “can you name the next film after me?” and subsequently their new movie is titled “Insert Name Here ___,” and even comes with a texta so everyone can name it whatever the hell you want; Fred, Sally, Bob, Gertrude; you get the idea.
Showcasing shredders such as World Champ Jeff Hubbard, Queenslander’s Corey McLean and Joe Clarke. Other sections include all the usual pros and young rippers filmed in Queensland, Hawaii, the South Coast, Victoria, Western Australia, Bali, and Chile.
The DVD is out September 20.
Premiere Details coming soon.
Peep the screen caps we’ve got here. Screen cap one, two, three, four, five.
