GOLD COAST, QLD – Science has again improved on its revolutionary Gyroll leash. The new yellow colourway in both Bicep and Wrist is a stiffer, stronger leash that has once again been designed out of necessity.

“We have reworked both the bicep and wrist gyroll leash this season to include a stiffer, stronger yellow model that is built for warmer water and heavy waves, the new yellow colourway has performed very well for the team riders that have tested them” Science Brand Manger Chris Apps said

All Mike Stewart Science products are designed out of necessity and tested in the toughest conditions worldwide to ensure that you are getting the most functional equipment on the market today.

Mike Stewart Science is owned and operated by Mike Stewart. The new yellow colour way and the original colour ways in the Gyroll leashes are available Australia wide now.

We havent tested those leashes yet but if we do (heyyyyy Chris send us a couple ones ! uhhhh : ) ) we’ll let you know.

Hubb styling some Churchills

Jeff “The flying squirrel” Hubbard will now fly the Churchill’s way, no more Vipers. Looks like it’s official and Churchill fins should even release a Hubb Churchill model in Jan / Feb 2009. Pretty cool.

We got a couple pics from the Softcore DVD premiere in the US and a couple lines from John (the man behind the movie): Big thanks to everyone who turned up and the SOFT CORE premieres this past weekend! There was lots of good times at both of them and a lot of the big wigs in the sport showed up to have some fun. Keep a look out for the vid, coming to stores on Sept 8th!. Picture 1 and Picture 2.

Uri Valadao and Mayla Venturin win Sopelana

Uri defeated Eder Luciano and Mayla defeated Christiane Kale making for an all Brazilian domination of both divisions. Next stop is Sintra (Portugal).

More trailers coming your way !

Looks like end of 2008 – Begin of 2009 is gonna be pretty boogie-movie-heavy. There are heaps of trailers popping here and there on the world wide web and we couldn’t help but choose a couple ones to post here, for your viewing pleasure:

- TheClapTheory.com released a second cool trailer for their upcoming movie Softcore.
- Mike and Scotty Carter released a weird but cool teaser for Fire
- Flames Yates released a teaser for his upcoming movie entitled Chicks (the movie we talked about here).
- The Brushed Aside trailer which is pretty damn good. It’s a UK movie by Andrew Course. You gotta watch the trailer. Check Danny Wall getting towed into a beast at the end !

Vert Mag 88 now available

You’re in Portugal ? You happen to read portugese ? or you dont ? Nevermind. If you can put your hands on the new VERT Mag issue 88 you’ll most likely digg what you see. It always has a good layout and super clean, crisp pictures. Check the Vert website to watch the trailer and see what’s in this issue.

SOAK THE SPONGE a new Panic Button TV project

Pretty interesting news today: The Panic Button crew has been working on a new project, but this time it’s a TV project, called SOAK THE SPONGE, which is a soon-to-be-aired show on FuelTV. This is what the Panic crew says about the new project: “We have been very secretive about what we were up to this year but now is the time to spill the beans…Panic Buton is making the WORLDS FIRST bodyboarding tv series SOAK THE SPONGE to be aired on FUEL TV…Initially we will be airing a 10 min pilot and 1 full length episode which will be on air in the coming month…Then we will be beginning to shoot a 6 part series to be aired at the end of next year…I know this is a while to wait but these things take time to be done properly.”

Watch the show teaser here. Brad Hughes and Chad Jackson will be taking the world’s best bodyboarders to their secret locations and find a few new ones on the way to showcase some of the most intense action going down! Sounds pretty good to us ! Can’t wait to watch this!

Cool Arica Challenge video edit online

There’s a good video edit from all the heats leading to the finals of the Arica Challenge here on the IBA website. Worth watching, good waves and big moves. Hard conditions to surf.

The World tour is now heading to Europe with Sopelana, Sintra and Ferrol. Let’s hope that the waves are gonna be good.

So far the ratings on the tour after the Arica Challenge are:

1. Uri Valadao – 4695
2. Guilherme Tamega – 4150
3. Pierre Louis Costes – 4096
4. Ben Player – 3778

It seems that this year’s tour has a better media coverage and everyone’s more interested into following it (we’re talking both about riders and spectators) which is pretty cool.

The Waldron Bros. just posted the news on their website: NMDtv Ep 2.02 with Ryan Hardy is now available on their podcast. Just hit refresh in your itunes podcast tab or if your not cool and haven’t subscribed already click here (it opens iTunes) and subscribe.
The episode is sick. Hardy kills it. For those who dont know what we’re talking about it’s a Ryan Hardy clip from his recent trip in Bali with the NMD and VS crew.

Oh by the way if you happen to be in Europe and more specifically in France at the end of next week while you’re on vacation or on a trip, you will be able to see Ryan Hardy, Winny, PLC and more riders as they all have a little promo stop between their euro contests schedule. Promo will be held at OGM board shop in Capbreton near Hossegor.
