We lagged a little bit lately so we had to do a little recap of what’s going on lately:
- Guilherme Tamega has a new website! Not sure if talked about it yet, but if we haven’t… shame on us, here the site: http://www.gtamega.com.br
- Nomad Bodyboards is proud to announce the signing of rising star Alex Halsey – here the release that went with the news: Nomad co-founder Shane Britten said of the signing, “Alex really represents the next wave of young riders who are combining power to their tech riding. Ever since seeing his section in Pastiche he has been someone we have been interested in working with, and I think his age and style will add a different dynamic and perspective to the FSD”. Halsey will join Chris James, Matt lackey, Sacha Specker, and Ernesto Evana as part of the Nomad FSD, a team initiative designed to provide their expertise on product design and development, but to also provide a program to launch projects of their own creation. To date these projects have included the ROAM series, T.I.A. (This Is Africa), and 40 Days around the world.
- Science Customs Announces the “Science Customs Design Challenge” – What’s that ? Well, here you go: Mike Stewart, Inc. company, is excited to announce the Science Customs Design Challenge. The Design Challenge is an open call for artists of all levels to create a custom design and share it with the bodyboarding community. French hellman Amaury Lavernhe is releasing his own movie as we speak. The movie is called OSMOZ (Amaury’s nickname is “Moz”) and you’ve got the trailer here: http://www.vimeo.com/11289346. It’s a great autobiographic film based on the life of Amaury.
Check some pictures here from Amaury: Pic 01, Pic 02, Pic 03, Pic 04.
An adventure that started on the strong Indian Ocean followed by images taken all over the world featuring extreme bodyboarding sessions, genuine interviews, last 3 years surfing sessions and some awesome landscapes images and places combined with dreamy perfect waves.
Amaury shows us his hometown Reunion Island surfing his favorite’s spots and talking about his lifestyle, charges huge sessions at Teahupoo, discovers the greatness of Canary Islands or shows us how he reached the respect of all the bodyboard community into challenging Pipeline conditions.
A real story of a real bodyboarder that follows his dream.
This project has been produced by Sniper bodyboards and developed together with Amaury Lavernhe and edited by focus prod (www.focusbodyboarding.com)

“Honest Blokes” is a movie project dedicated to the riders that make up HB Bodyboards. We talked about recently and just received a cool little news from the guys at HB:
The boys recently decided to take a punt and head back into the desert of South Australia. Stakes were high as a lack of footage and waves were not acceptable. The boys scored the four days they were down there…. even cade sharp and thom robinson got involved.
Check the Brad Hughes clip here: http://vimeo.com/11096365 – by James Kates
We got some pictures as well from the HB guys in South Australia but we’re on the road at the moment so we’ll post them later on! Sorry! heheh

We’re late on this one but have an excuse: we’re working on more interviews and side projects to be released soon!
Anyway, if you haven’t heard about it before, Mitch Rawlins is currently working on a new movie: HIDING FROM COMFORT which will most likely be a great success and some of the sickest moving pictures you’ll put your hands on in a near future. Make sure you watch the teaser on Mitch’s website or on Vimeo right here. Trailer is awesome and if you’ve watched what Mitch and his mates filmed this winter on the north shore you know they’ve got the skills to release a great movie.

Mitch Rawlins – Hawaii Vol.3 – Video clip now available ! Watch it here: http://mitchrawlins.com/movies/hawaii-2010-vol-lll/. As Mitch says on his blog, Ben Player seems to seriously master the pipe like no one else and it shows in this clip once again. Every winter he gets more waves and better waves than anyone (except Mike maybe!) and he surfs super good at pipe with drive, control, deep pits and style.
