The Riptide Experiment is back
After six long years, the Riptide Experiment is back. What is it you gonna ask? Well if you’re very young you might not know but if you’re a bit older you’ll remember well. There was a time when Riptide Mag used to put 7 riders on a boat and send them somewhere on a boat trip, took pics, filmed and then release a DVD and a Mag with all that. It was – needless to say – for us at Spongercity the highlight of the year magazine-wise since only Riptide Magazine was providing such quality stuff. To this day we still remember Roach backside pig-dogging some Mentawaii nugget like no other man could, proving the world he’s also shredding backside for all those who wondered. Oh well anyways, it’s not the point today, the point is… The Riptide Experiment is back! And we’re stoked about this! Frothing!
Here’s the deal:
2013 will see the return of the Experiment trip, a project our longtime readers will remember as the bringing together of the world’s best bodyboarders, travelling to an exotic location and letting them loose. Hot on the heels of the inaugural Riptide Bodyboarder of the Year we’re bringing you our second big announcement in a few months, and it ain’t going to be the last. We’re staying tight-lipped on the ‘when’ and ‘where’ for now, but we will give you the list of the ‘who’, and it’s a doozy. Feast your eyes on the 2013 Riptide Experiment #7 lineup:

Celebrating 10 YEARS of Spongercity.com
Can you believe this ? We’ve been around for 10 years already ! 10 freakin’ years updating this website! (We started calling it playbord.com and soon changed to Spongercity.com years and years ago).
To celebrate this we’ve slightly refreshed the design on the website with a new navigation bar which we’ve designed a while ago but haven’t released since then.
It’s been a while since we’ve last re-designed Spongercity.com a bit, we thought we’d give content some more space and therefore we’ve reduced the size of the top navigation on the whole website, no other big changes other than this. The navigation bar is now thinner, cleaner, nicer, tighter and leaves you more content to read without scrolling. We hope you’ll enjoy the change (for those who actually will notice a change). We’ll call this version of the website Version 5.0 since the one before was called Version 4.0 – Sounds cool hey!
Thanks heaps for your support over the years, let’s keep this thing going! We’ll come up with more interviews, reviews & tests in 2013!
