Ryan signs with REEFLEX Wetsuits for 2011.
With whispers and rumours running rife in the industry over the past month we thought it was about time to officially announce that Ryan Hardy has joined the Reeflex Team in 2011.
Ryan joins Dave “Winny” Winchester on the Global Pro Team travelling the world in pursuit of an IBA World Tour Title whilst juggling fatherhood with his new born son Oliver Jay Hardy arriving on Saturday 22nd January.

We talked about DIVISION71 Bodyboards a little while ago and now it’s happening: DIVISION71 is releasing a series of 250 boards as a limited edition thing and the boards are looking sweet. DIVISION71 is Brian Peterson’s new brand under the CatchSurf Group (Tom Morey’s company, producing softboards and surfboards as well as Division71 in California).
THE LIMITED EDITION IS AN EXCLUSIVE MODEL OF ONLY 250 BOARDS TO COMMEMORATE THE LAUNCH OF DIVISION 71®.
Designed and made in Area 71™ in San Clemente, California, the Limited Edition is the pinnacle of performance and represents the culmination of master shaper, Brian Peterson’s 25 years of experience.
Each of the 250 Limited Edition models is made in a custom-fashion with Brian overseeing every detail. The Limited Edition was designed using sophisticated CAD software, shaped on our state-of-the-art CNC machine and features D71’s new and patent pending, Charged™ Core Technology (utilizes positive-negative tension to create maximum projection).
Features ARPlank® beaded polypropylene (BPP) core with D71’s dual Projection Flex™ stringer system for maximum rigidity and strength. Also includes nose grips, D71’s unique grip-enhancing textured rail and Brian’s own speed-hull bottom with dual trim-tab crescent tail. All logos are old-school, Mylar stamped as a symbol of the Limited Edition’s “Made in USA” heritage.
Includes a Peterson-signed and numbered collectable Certificate of Authenticity and D71 sticker pack.

Got some cool news from Manta: To celebrate Manta’s 25th Silver anniversary we are offering a special “Silver Series” custom board in whatever classic Manta shape you like. What you need to do to win is. Head on over to Manta’s Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/mantabodyboards and become a friend if you’re not already. Then in 25 words or less write on Manta’s wall explaining which was your favorite Manta board ever and why you need it remade. Photos of you and the board will grab you extra points. The winner will be deemed in two weeks time on December 17th. Manta will get in contact with you via Facebook and will arrange to have a new Silver Series model to you in time for the Christmas break.

Two-time World Champion Damian King has just released his personal instructional Bodyboarding DVD. Damian covers everything from paddling and ocean safety, all the way through to advanced moves and competition strategies. Kingy advice not only comes from 2 world titles and over 20 years riding, but the best footage from the past 10 years of his Joker series archive to best illustrate the particular tip he is talking about.
The DVD also contains a beginner and advanced stretching routine, which is tailored for Bodyboarding, and preventing injury from the impact certain moves have on your body. “I have been working on the DVD for a while now, and I didn’t want to just slap something together”- King said. Now that it’s finished I am pretty stoked with the final product. It’s starts off with the very basics of Bodyboarding and then progresses into more technical aspects of the sport. I truly believe there are tips in the DVD for anyone who wants to fast track their riding and learn the correct techniques so they can utilize the waves they catch”.
The 50-minute Damian King Instructional DVD will retail for around $25, and be available in stores mid November.
