Once again the Arica challenge seems to be a total success with super good waves and a crazy bunch of competitors. Check the Day 5 recap on video here: http://vimeo.com/11910872. Hubb is a freak. How massive are those 2 manoeuvers ? Freaking huge. Hubb pushing the limits of the sport once again and probably the limits of the human body. How’s that landing in the flats ? 99% of humans would just break appart after such a massive landing heheh. Yeah Hubb!

71 Magazine issue 3 is now online ! Excellent mag with sick sick sick images and videos. DO NOT MISS THE JOE CLARKE VIDEO and the HAWAII VIDEO. Both vids are farrrkinnn good. Joe rips. Hawaii was insane this season. Check Finlay’s wave at pipe in the Hawaii 10 video, as well as Mitch Rawlins massive nugget and much more! We loved it!

We lagged a little bit lately so we had to do a little recap of what’s going on lately:

- Nomad Bodyboards is proud to announce the signing of rising star Alex Halsey – here the release that went with the news: Nomad co-founder Shane Britten said of the signing, “Alex really represents the next wave of young riders who are combining power to their tech riding. Ever since seeing his section in Pastiche he has been someone we have been interested in working with, and I think his age and style will add a different dynamic and perspective to the FSD”. Halsey will join Chris James, Matt lackey, Sacha Specker, and Ernesto Evana as part of the Nomad FSD, a team initiative designed to provide their expertise on product design and development, but to also provide a program to launch projects of their own creation. To date these projects have included the ROAM series, T.I.A. (This Is Africa), and 40 Days around the world.
- Science Customs Announces the “Science Customs Design Challenge” – What’s that ? Well, here you go: Mike Stewart, Inc. company, is excited to announce the Science Customs Design Challenge. The Design Challenge is an open call for artists of all levels to create a custom design and share it with the bodyboarding community. The Challenge will run from May 1, 2010 until June 30, 2010 with a Grand Prize to be selected by Mike Stewart and Alistair Taylor on July 12th, 2010. Additional prizes will be awarded via community voting. Prizes: GRAND PRIZE (Selected by Mike and Al): Science Custom Board with the winning design, Science boardbag and Gyroll leash. French hellman Amaury Lavernhe is releasing his own movie as we speak. The movie is called OSMOZ (Amaury’s nickname is “Moz”) and you’ve got the trailer here: http://www.vimeo.com/11289346. It’s a great autobiographic film based on the life of Amaury.

Pro bodyboarders are all waking up and seem to be aware that a good website definitely helps a good career. Most pros are now starting their own site (not your average Blogger blog with a lame design) which is really cool.

The french best waves are now available in the new Freeride Mode.
In order to always introduce bodyboarders from all around the world with the best waves of each part of the globe, the bodyboarding webgame YouRiding.com will offer all the internet users the possibility to play the best 20 french wave-spots, starting on April 26, 2010.
Players will be able to ride freely in prone, dropknee and tow-out waves such as the big slam Annaëlle in Brittanny, Bud Bud in Vendée or La Tortue in the Reunion island.
This initiative will be part of a series of future ‘geo-targeted’ updates that will allow users to play the best wave from Australia, Portugal, Hawaii, Brazil, Indonesia, … in Freeride and Contest gamemodes.
